Cute kitties. The first fellow looks to have a few battle scars on his nose.

Took a walk on the boardwalk by Ramsey Lake in the heart of Sudbury.
Of course, I forced myself to bring a camera. ;)

Jeff: Great series! I especially like "The Blues" for composition.

Leigh: hooray for more cat photos. :) You've managed to make it seem as though that cute kitty is "wild" and in the jungle.

Frank: Great to see you posting again, and excellent abstracts! Number 3 from your first series I really like, but definitely your use of B&W adds to each shot.

RM: Beautiful shot, a classic look in B&W

Tim: Love the USS Iowa shot! Perfect.

I couldn't help noticing the group is falling down on their cat photography this round. I'm here to rectify that.

This is the BLCU's librarian cat. His box is by the doors to the library.

The first kitten I've seen in Beijing. Don't be fooled by the little bit of foliage. I'm right by the BLCU's library and surrounded by concrete.

Awe, who can resist cute kitties? Thanks for sharing :)

I've got a few more fireworks pictures, I may start a separate thread tomorrow (assuming my wife doesn't start one first, she has a bunch too)

Now sleepies...

Sorry for not responding very much this week. Been got up in some personal business. I am really starting to hate funerals! Anyway, seen some beautiful images this week and after so much rain in the West this spring it is great to see some shots with sunsine and parting going on. Tim, love the black and whites and man are those a big set of shooters. Canada thanks our Southern friends for keeping us safe. We of coarse spend most of our money on farming beavers and making bacon! Great to see a fire works shot as it was raining tooo hard here to see anything. Frank, Burlington Waterscpae should have been called, "The Evening Blues" Love that shot. Great job by all and for my US shooter friends, have a great 4th of July. Cheers JIM

I love the fireworks (as I mentioned in your other thread).
I will have to try this some day.

I just have a simple shot I took early Tuesday morning.

Hi all, popping in to say hello after a long absence. Rosemary, your portraiture is evolving into a sophisticated style! I especially like the third image in your first post, as it is ethereal in styling (hair/fashion) and mood.

Dad, your light painting series is very cool. I know how much fun you had creating them!

Jimbo, I love your B&W image of the bridge. Very graphic, simple yet striking and a great contrast next to the soft water images.

I recently moved to Humboldt County, CA (about 4 hours away from Sonoma County, where I've lived most my life.) I am lucky enough to have a temporary position with my old job, working from home, and it allows me to get out and explore this beautiful, lush, coastal rainforest. I am still not shooting much with my Canon 40D, nor my Lumix GF2, but I do love my iPhoneography! :-) The three images below were edited with Instagram.

Amanda: Nice series, I like Going Up a lot, you have a real talent with architecture with your iPhone.

Jeff: Beautiful sunrise, and nice catch of the seagull. :tu:

I had the opportunity to attend a 4th of July parade yesterday. The lighting wasn't perfect, I had to shoot almost directly into the sun, but I came up with some keepers. It was a really interesting parade. I doubt this is typical, but there were floats giving out flowers, bagels, cheese slices (wrapped), bottled water, and the ubiquitous candy.

nice to see you here Amanda and excellent work as always!!

Well, last night, I decided to try for the firework show in San Fran, my intent to incorporate the rising full moon breaking the horizon behind Coit Tower with fireworks bursting in front. I carefully plotted my angles and framing and set out for the spot I plotted, high in the Marin Headlands. On arrival, the fog and low clouds were having none of that...so, plan B was to get low as possible and try to shoot under the fog and forget about the moon.

Well, not the greatest result since I was having to shoot at 280mm across the bay, but the fireworks barge did line up nicely to frame Coit Tower the entire time.

Tower Of Power

I've got dozens of these, but i'll keep it to just one representative photo, how's that?

Great framing Mike on the firework shot. Tiff, really like your first firework shot. Never tried one of these type of shots yet. Cheers JIM
